Watch: Frontiers in Science interview with Robin Wall Kimmerer

This interview with plant ecologist, professor of environmental biology and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Robin Wall Kimmerer, poetically blends Indigenous wisdom and science with inspiring advice. Professor Kimmerer’s passion for the natural environment, and moving recollections and responses to the audience questions are especially helpful in these challenging times.

The interview is available on YouTube here. I have also made previous recommendations about Professor Kimmerer’s writings here.

Read: The May edition of Oryx- The International Journal of Conservation

The theme of this edition is human rights and conservation, and features important articles highlighting how Indigenous and local community efforts and rights can be supported and protected. The editorial recognises the contribution of Indigenous authors and co-leads and provides legal and human rights analysis, with articles on the themes of environmental justice, land rights and restitution, and the application of free, prior and informed consent from Indigenous perspectives.

The articles are open-access and are available on the Cambridge University Press website here.
